Vision and Objectives Topic Paper

The purpose of this topic paper is to set out the proposed Vision and Objectives that will guide the Strategic and Local Plan (SLP) and explain how they have been formulated.

The SLP needs a bold, ambitious overarching vision. The vision should be supported by Strategic Objectives, which set out the ways that the vision will be achieved. The vision and strategic objectives provide the foundation on which the plan’s strategy and policies are then based. Therefore, if the policies are successfully implemented, the future state of the SLP area described by the vision will be the natural conclusion.
