- Ensuring a network of city and town centres that meet the needs of communities, including supporting cultural uses and events, and that are able to respond and evolve as the role and function of centres changes.
- Support the provision of a wide range of different uses appropriate to city and town centres, including new homes, to create activity at different times of the day and build an active city and town centre community.
- To draw on the uniqueness of the different centres in planning for their future.

I think we need to start promoting high-density development in our city centres. Proposed developments like the new houses to be built on the car park near Cheltenham City Centre should be mixed use and high density, not full of single family homes. Promoting low density residential will eventually lead to noise restrictions which will affect nightlife in town centres.

@Ynte Lammertsma I agree; there are also lots of empty unused buildings (shops preciously) that could be utilised. Towns have the transport networks already in place too.
