Link people to work by public transport

From "Draft Vision"

Go to the project

There are too few public transport facilities at industrial estates. It should be possible for people to get to any industrial estate from all local residential areas by public transport. It should not be necessary to travel to work by car. Car parking in industrial units should be severely restricted to encourage use of public transport.

As a youngster, Smith's industries in Bishops Cleeve and also Dowty's I believe along with other employers organised their own bus services from Tewkesbury and outlying areas in a contract system with Warners buses and coaches. Other employers did the same. I agree with the comment above. The bus service from the Ashchurch Railway station through the industrial estates into Tewkesbury could be much improved/
Additionally - for those who want to cycle there should be secure bike parking available.
