Re-Wilding
From "What should the SLP do for climate and nature?"
Go to the project
New developments should have hedging boundaries instead of fencing, rainwater harvesting and wildflower meadows.
New developments must be supported at strategic level with a new reservoir and new sewage systems.
New developments must contribute to clearing local ditches and water courses.
No open plan gardens - they must be enclosed with hedging and trees

New building projects often remove existing hedges and trees even when the planning consent expressly requires that they are kept. More attention needs to be paid to retaining existing and enhancing natural features.
