A standardised range of houses whereby the facade can be changed but the remainder is standardised can improve quality, environmental rating, speed of construction and reduce cost significantly. If parts of the house can be built in a factory even better. Planning could impose the build standard and potentially guarantee business to a standardised house builder to locate his business in Gloucestershire.
