use new development to kick start a wider low carbon economy

From "What should the SLP do for climate and nature?"

Go to the project

Low carbon technology has been stop start for the past 25 years as various government schemes come and go. Firm clear policies that are carried through can bring a degree of certainty for the low carbon sector and allow it to thrive. For too long we have allowed developers to cut costs and put gas fired heating into poorly insulated homes. These will all have to be retrofitted as we move towards a low carbon future. The ambition is clearly there it is following it through with development control decisions.
