wooded area to the East of Elmbridge Court

NIGEL HAYWARD•2 years ago This wooded strip, I am not sure what it is called is home to Tawny Owls, Woodpecker and many other bird species. Slow worms also have been seen there. I can remember exploring this back in the 1970's and it has hardly changed since. It looks to be the last existing wooded area in Gloucester and so should be protected with the utmost URGENCY. Richard Graham please note Elmbridge belongs to Gloucester not to some medievel town 15 miles away, you really need to fight this land grab, if you won't will LABOUR or LIB dems fight for Elmbridge?

Tewkesbury Borough Council need to justify their assumptions

NIGEL HAYWARD•2 years ago I would like to see evidence that the SLP body has shown due dilligence in producing this unsubstatiated report. 1) Where do the required housing figures come from, please share reports and studies. (facts and figures).2) Have you surveyed the purchasers of all new housing built in the last 5 years, I hope so.3) What are the proportions & type grouping of the buyers? for eg. First time buyers, Local buyers, buyers from outside Gloucestershire, developers, second home buyers, Foreign buyers (non UK based). and please not a cobbled report that no one public servant has the guts to sign. like the SLP.4) Why has Tewkesbury land grabbed Longlevens and potentially grabbing Elmbridge? is it to complete their plan to overload Gloucester road infrastructure? Hands off Barnwood you medievel scoundrels, this might just lead to a battle of the green belt.5) I dont really think Innsworth or Down Hatherley should be Tewkesbury either....there is a link all these locations have or are suffering from over development.6) Tewkesbury stays relatively the same - oh it has the good village award for its flowery roundabouts is that an excuse to not participate in your own plans? Come on lets build 500,000 homes in North Tewkesbury - PROBLEM SOLVED

Brownfield regeneration

NIGEL HAYWARD•2 years ago Houses must be build on brownfield sites before any other considerations. Gloucester city centre, needs regeneration, more money spent, lower rents. High rents is why it has died the council know this, they helped it happen by building out of town shopping centres. What are your plans for the regeneration of the city centre? if houses are to be built it must be apartments and starter homes. Building homes to cater for the needs of rich outsiders is not what we want, we dont want to be building big houses to cater for the overspill from the Cotswolds as there is limited availability in housing out there in the wilderness.

Housing density as opposed to Employment business

NIGEL HAYWARD•2 years ago Gloucester & Cheltenham should look at their own plans and divorce themselves from this SLP planning review. Tewkesbury has no rights to swallow up outlying land so that it can use it as a development buffer to protect itself. Gloucester has no real jobs so many people here commute long distances. Why build more houses for rich people from London to make matters worse? The infrastructure is creaking now. The key is to build small houses around major employers this reduces commute times and allows for shared public transport. Where has new industry set up in Gloucester for example? Very few large companies have, what is here already existed. It is perhaps under a new name, maybe a few smaller businesses have appeared but its not significant. I think we need an SLP review of the Local Government, Councillors and Boundary Commission wallers, looks to me ripe for weeding out the dead wood and saving some money. Not one person owns up to producing this SLP and its associated documents, no one has approved it from Tewks Borough Council (TBC) or the City or County Councils. Its just like dealing with a lot of Dino's set in their arcane ways, never to change, never to think about saving money, just spend the budget as quick as you can, or you wont get the same next year. the most annoying part is that this has been produced by TBC probably at great expense and its a bunch of C**p to be honest. TBC if you want to build houses do it in your neck of the woods, Ashchurch MOD looks a good bet now get out of Elmbridge and Barnwood and Longlevens
